the Lore of Radiance
There is another world that exists alongside ours.
It is called Thaedreal, a refuge for those gifted with supernatural power, divinely charged with keeping peace and balance among the realms of Radiance.
The second is our world, the Otherworld, also known as Eorowae, land of technology and progress.
These paraworlds comprise a correlant dichotomy split from the same origin world, Radia, as a means of quelling war but still allowing for mutual existence.
As such, they were conjoined by ethereal tissue in passageways called overturas, portals allowing selective travel back and forth.
Both flourished, each with its own unique way of life but with limited exposure and influence. Populations skyrocketed, particularly in Eorowae.
With this growth came violence, destruction, and an insatiable hunger for power. But it was kept in check.
For centuries, Thaedreal's inhabitants struggled to set themselves apart from these temptations. But all humans, even supernatural, are subject to human weakness. Jealousy, anger, resentment, fear, lust, and greed. These powers were at work, proving to be a volatile mix that had no care for the ethereal divide.
Thus at a boiling point in Radiant history, the overturas were severed to protect both worlds and their peoples.
Ties were broken, histories forgotten and buried in vast walls of lies and secrets.
The strategy worked.

Life is Full of Surprises.
Leila Jenkins is nothing special, or so she thinks, a middle child with anxiety and issues stuck in a maddening sea of normalcy. She feels out of place, different. Because she is. She is a secret, both the catalyst and the key to stopping a new war in the paraworlds of Radiance.
In spite of the portals being sealed, Leila shifts and awakens in Thaedreal. Strangely familiar, she finds herself daring to believe in it.
Yet she struggles to return to her troubled sister and the life she knows.
But in her journey, she finds that Thaedreal has many secrets that could lead to the destruction of all. In discovering her true identity, she will unearth a power in herself that will threaten to rip her apart or change the course of history forever.
